Control Resonant, Remedy Entertainment’s character-action follow-up to Control, is out on September 24, 2026, with pre-orders open now. The date and a Digital Deluxe Edition breakdown closed the game’s Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 trailer.
The footage, labelled a mix of gameplay, in-game cinematics, and in-game live action, opens on Remedy’s familiar territory: a brutalist concrete chamber bending into the Astral Plane, a red-lit corridor, a seated figure in a horned mask beneath a portrait, a “Thomas Street Exit” subway sign, and the instruction “buckle up / shift gear”. The lead, a long-haired, bearded man, cuts through a wheat field with a strip of metal, then flings enemies through graffiti-covered streets in bursts of pink and cyan energy before a Hiss-corrupted brute pins him against the ground.
Press quotes ran over the action: “fast, fluid and incredibly fun” (CG Magazine), “absolutely spectacular” (CBR), and “a deliciously free-flowing character action RPG” (Rock Paper Shotgun).
The Digital Deluxe Edition bundles the main game with a digital artbook, the original soundtrack, and outfit and artifact items; the pre-order bonus card listed a Hiss Corruption outfit and a Pickpocket’s Tool artifact. Platform logos on the date card were small on the stream but included PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC storefronts.
