Airship Syndicate, the studio behind Darksiders Genesis, announced Dust Origins at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Host Geoff Keighley introduced it as a new, self-funded and self-published indie title in which you escape from a failing orbital prison. No platforms or date appeared on the card.
The trailer is cut like security-camera footage, with “CAM” numbers and “REC” stamps in the corners and single words slammed over the action: “in this prison”, “to kill you”, “survive”, “adapt”, “escape”, “die”. The gameplay underneath is top-down shooting through a dim, cable-strewn station: a lone figure firing down corridors lit by red emergency strips and cyan panels, explosions ripping through machinery, a hulking creature with a glowing spine, and a body sliding across a walkway as the camera cuts out.
The gritty, industrial look is a departure from the studio’s bright, stylised Darksiders and Ruined King work.
