The new IP whose tagline host Geoff Keighley said could not be repeated on stage turned out to be PUBG: DED.NET, a first-person shooter spin-off from the PUBG universe. The Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 trailer ended on a glitching red logo and one instruction: join the closed beta.
The setting is a mountain town under a snow-capped peak, with a neon-lit tavern, a payphone, a gas station, and a “Foggy Roller Disco”, and the tone is gonzo. Masked cultists in skull bandanas and goggles fire pistols and flamethrowers through pine forests, a pair of women in fetish-club leather draw guns in a bedroom, a bear-costumed gunner blasts through a burning street, a grenade launcher is stencilled “DOG”, and a giant, many-armed silhouette rises against a pink moon at the end.
Menus flashed by too: a perk screen with entries such as Akimbo, Heal All, and Cash Drop, and a card-pack-style reward burst, which suggests a run-based or extraction-style structure. The trailer did not name the developer within Krafton, list platforms, or give a date; the closed beta is the only next step shown.
