Exterminauts, a co-op shooter that treats alien extermination as blue-collar contract work, was announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 with a “wishlist now” card listing PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The footage was labelled alpha and work in progress; no date was given.
The narration is a recruitment ad. The crew goes “into the places no one else touches, and into the future of dirty work done right”; it is “the first and only crew built to punch in the hot zones, take on the toughest jobs and stay longer”, with “the firepower to clean up the alien mess and the grit to see the job through”. At the end of the shift “they’ll keep the lights on for one more day”, as “the last ones to leave the worksite, the only crew that gets paid for doing what others won’t”. The slogan: “punch in, clean up, get paid.”
The gameplay is third-person squad shooting in heavy industrial exosuits: three-player teams blasting through a refinery under an eclipse, a purple wormhole ripping open, lightning weapons, a colossal explosion that whites out the screen, a dropship docking to a floating platform, a mech-armoured heavy, and a crew hauling loot into a truck. A swarm of pale, spider-legged creatures pours out of the smoke in the closing shots.
The developer and publisher logos on the card were too small to read on the stream.
