Exodus, the sci-fi RPG from Archetype Entertainment and Wizards of the Coast, has a release date. The Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 trailer ended on “launches 04.07.27”, which reads as April 7, 2027, in the US format the studio uses, alongside a wishlist prompt and PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store logos.
Host Geoff Keighley framed the segment as a deeper look at one crew member: Salt, an awakened octopus and mercenary who joins your team. In the trailer she floats in a tank aboard the ship while the blond lead sizes her up (“you have a most impressive reputation”), negotiates in clipped sentences (“I will join, but I will be paid after”), and admits what she has given up: asked whether she is from somewhere else, she answers “somewhere else”, then “I miss ocean. Safety.” In combat she rides inside an armoured, spider-legged mech with a glowing pink visor. Keighley’s description of the wider crew: soldiers, smugglers, mercs, scholars, and awakened animals whose skills and chemistry shape every fight and decision.
The gameplay is third-person squad combat with a command wheel of abilities including Cascading Death, Shield of the Deva, Celestial Balance, Ink Mortar, Quantum Link, and Volatile Hold, fought through a fungal cave, a ruined garden, and a red desert against Celestials in ornate armour. The trailer’s text beats restate the premise: “step forward to save your species”, a “years back home” counter, and the line “time is our great enemy, but we must always have hope”.
The footage was marked as work-in-progress gameplay and cinematics. No price was given.
