Capcom used its Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 pre-show slot to shadow-drop an expanded demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The cards at the end of the trailer read “the demo has been expanded” and “expanded demo available now”, and promised “tense swordplay action in a new location, where a deadly duel awaits”.
The trailer itself was a boss montage: a masked warrior wreathed in purple flame in a misty blue forest, a monstrous many-eyed demon with spinning blades, a robed figure with a wooden mask, a swarm of burning spirits across a crimson field, and a giant wielding a glowing purple blade in front of a pagoda. The lines “I can tear you apart as many times as I like” and a mention of a gauntlet reaching its finale ran over the footage.
An early adopter bonus card listed a sword appearance called Sealed Curse and a Lion Dog charm. The closing card confirmed the release date of September 4, 2026, with pre-orders open now, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch 2.
