Nodus Fall is a photoreal co-op action game from HoYoverse, and it opened Opening Night Live

Players are weavers hunting mythic beings after divine order collapses; the trailer draws on the ten suns myth and looks nothing like Genshin. No platforms or date yet.

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 opened with a surprise from HoYoverse: Nodus Fall, an original co-op action game that looks nothing like Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail. According to host Geoff Keighley’s description after the trailer, players take on the role of a weaver in a world where divine authority has crumbled and order has collapsed, and must “stand as one” to defeat mythic beings using close coordination and sharp tactics.

The trailer is photoreal rather than anime-styled. Its narration speaks of “weaving calamity” along “silken paths”, of malice taking root, and of ten suns rising “as spoken of old” before “the weavers came forth”, a nod to the Chinese myth of the ten suns. The footage moves from a fog-bound marsh where giant beasts wade, to a canyon under a burning sky where a horned giant rises in flame, to a rain-lashed grey sea where a white-haired archer and two companions fight a winged, many-limbed creature. Later shots show a huge horned dragon breathing fire at a swordsman, a pale phantom warrior fighting alongside a lion-like beast, and a ghostly white face with tendrils filling the screen before the title.

The stage screens carried the tagline “Wield Divinity. Sever the Dreadnodus”. No platforms, release window, or business model were shown, and HoYoverse has not yet said whether it follows the studio’s usual free-to-play approach.
