Ubisoft announced Rainbow Six Tactics at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, a turn-based, single-player tactics game set in the Rainbow Six universe, developed by Ubisoft Paris and launching in 2027.

According to host Geoff Keighley’s summary after the trailer, you lead a squad of operators on missions around the world, combining planning, coordinated breaching, and tactical decision-making, and choose from a roster of 15 operators, each with specialised gadgets, abilities, and progression paths. The story setup in the trailer involves a string of agency bombings and a call to recontact Rainbow’s former operators, with the line “you just have to choose which ones”.

The footage, labelled a mix of work-in-progress gameplay and in-engine cinematics, is closer to XCOM than to Siege: a command centre with a world map, a global security level, and timed objectives; an operator roster and recruitment screen where Zofia and Nøkk were visible alongside Doc, Montagne, Ash, and Glaz; and top-down, grid-based missions across a jungle camp, an airport terminal, a warehouse, and a snowy compound, with action prompts for breach charges, assault shots, sniper shots, and an end-turn button.

No platforms were listed on the card, and there was no price or more precise date beyond 2027.
