ZooPunk, a third-person action game with an all-animal cast, got a new trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. Host Geoff Keighley teased “animal combat” and a roster that includes, in his words, a shark who fights with a long blade, and told viewers to “keep an eye out for the Marmot and Otter bosses too”.
The trailer opens on a ramshackle airship drifting through cloud, then a meal on its deck: a rhino in a helmet shovelling food, and the lead, a goggled squirrel in a leather harness and mechanical gauntlet, who ends the scene with “no, I’m gonna smash this rotten world into pieces” while a companion answers “I’ve got you”. The gameplay runs through a snowbound industrial ruin with a rail cannon, a blood-slicked hangar, a rooftop leap from a hovering gunship, and a sun-drenched dock where she dives across wooden planks against Marmot and Otter warriors with named health bars over their heads.
The combat reads as fast, weighty melee with gauntlet-powered dashes and heavy slams, and the animal cast is played straight rather than cute. A boar in a spiked mech suit, a badger warlord with a bristling mane, and a fennec swordsman in a red cloak round out the roster on screen.
The closing card, credited to Shanghai’s TiGames (the F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch studio), lists Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS5 Pro, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. No date or price was given.
