Amplitude Studios announced Humankind II during the Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 pre-show. The 4X sequel is due in 2027 on Steam, where it can be wishlisted now.
The trailer began with a first-person, live-action-styled rush through history: a furred hunter roaring at the camera, a woman in a columned temple, a torch-lit crowd, a crowded timber-framed street, a figure in a plumed hat and cloak, a woman in a bonnet in a ship’s cabin, and a smiling astronaut pulling the viewer through a space station, before a title line read “Humankind is about to begin again”.
It then cut to in-game footage: a snowbound coastline dotted with settlements and icebergs, a warm archipelago with a classical city and its harbour, forested hills, a desert with pyramids, and units and ships moving between them, all rendered in the series’ painterly map style.
No consoles were listed on the card, and no price was given.
