Mewgenics is coming to consoles. Straight after the first live performance of the game’s music at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026, host Geoff Keighley announced that Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel’s cat-breeding strategy game arrives on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S on September 8.
The performance itself was by Ridiculon, the duo behind the soundtracks to The Binding of Isaac and Mewgenics, joined on stage by a vocalist for “Guillotine”, a swaggering cabaret number sung from the point of view of a cat (“my claws were made for you”). Keighley introduced Mewgenics as a game that “got rave reviews for its gameplay and dark comedy style”, and its music, when it launched on PC earlier this year.
No console pricing was mentioned on stage.
