Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, according to a trailer shown at the top of Nintendo Direct September 2026. The trailer closed with a second card for the game’s expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, marked for 2027.
The trailer mixes story scenes with hunts. It shows the young character Nata in the forest and around camp, with the dialogue lines “I don’t want him to think we’re not on his side” and “You gonna sit and cry or get up and help”, then cuts across the game’s regions: hunters riding through grasslands, a chase across the desert, a group of armoured hunters posing together, and a night fight against a burning monster. An on-screen caption reads “Includes all title updates!”, so the Switch 2 release ships with the post-launch content already out on other platforms.
The Switch 2 badge sat on the date card and no other platforms were mentioned in this segment. The narration called Ascendance a “massive expansion” that is “also on the way”, and added that “more information will be revealed in the future”. The expansion card gave only the year, so there is no release date, price, or content detail for Ascendance yet, and the trailer did not show a price or pre-order date for the Switch 2 version of the base game.
