Square Enix showed Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United at Nintendo Direct September 2026, a remake of Romancing SaGa 3 that lands on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2027. The date and both systems appeared on the closing card, and an on-screen note said the footage came from the Switch 2 version.
The trailer opens on a red eclipse hanging in space, then moves through an overgrown ruin, a lantern-lit town at night, and a sailing ship pulling into a harbour below a walled city. Four characters are shown in a row of close-up portraits, and cutscenes introduce a red-haired woman in dark clothing and a winged figure with long blonde hair.
Battle footage is turn-based, with a full party facing a group of enemies on a tiled floor. On-screen labels call out Glimmers, where a character sparks a new ability mid-fight, and United Attacks, a combined strike that landed for 385 damage in the clip. The narration says you “learn new abilities during battle and fell foes with devastating united attacks”.
Story choices matter, according to the narration: “Which allies will join your cause and which roads will you take? Your decisions will shape how the story unfolds.” The remake includes new visuals, full voice acting for cutscenes, and a newly arranged soundtrack.
Only the two Nintendo systems were listed on the card, and no price or pre-order details were given in this segment.
