Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics showed a new Nintendo Switch 2 trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis at Nintendo Direct September 2026, a reimagining of Lara Croft’s 1996 debut. The end card gave a release date of February 12, 2027, and the narrator said pre-orders begin later today on the Nintendo eShop.
The trailer opens on a jackal-headed statue cradling the Scion, the artifact from the original game, then follows Lara through sunlit sandstone ruins, a rain-soaked jungle canopy, and a dark flooded chamber. The narration traces the same route as the 1996 game: “from the lush jungles of Peru, and ancient ruins of Greece, to the tombs of Egypt.”
Gameplay footage shows Lara climbing carved columns, leaping between ledges on a temple face, and diving across the sand as debris falls behind her. A black panther stalks her through one canyon, and she draws her pistols on animals charging across the floor of another. “Master acrobatic abilities and use Lara’s signature dual pistols to dispatch deadly foes,” the narrator said.
The Direct card listed only Nintendo Switch 2, with Crystal Dynamics, Flying Wild Hog, and Amazon Game Studios named on the project. Nothing was said about price, editions, or what the pre-order includes.
