Danganronpa 2×2, Spike Chunsoft’s two-scenario remake of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, got a release date at Nintendo Direct September 2026. It launches January 14, 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
The trailer opens on a return to Jabberwock Island, with the class gathered among wooden desks on a beach while Usami looks on from a podium. A mode select screen then shows the two routes side by side: Original, described on screen as “Play the original scenario: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair”, and Slayhem, marked by a pink splatter on a chained sign.
Slayhem Mode keeps the same setting and characters. According to the narration, “after Headmaster Monokuma triggers another deadly scheme, events unfold in a completely different way with new victims and culprits.” The trailer shows an army of armored Monokuma mechs, a pile of weapons, Hajime finding something hidden under a bed, and a Split Opinion pillar that leads into a class trial.
The narration also says that in Slayhem Mode “you can now debate other students during class trials to help crack the case.” Footage shows a debate screen with Refute and Affirm choices over a line about sedatives in the food, and a Consensus splash once it resolves. One character declares: “Monokuma, I demand we put the class trial on hold.”
The gameplay footage was captioned as coming from the Nintendo Switch 2 version. The end card listed only Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, and no price was shown.
