Nintendo showed Nintendo Switch Sports Resort at Nintendo Direct September 2026. It launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026, and pre-orders are available now on Nintendo eShop.

The trailer opens on a resort gate marked Spocco and moves out across Wuhu Island, the setting from Wii Sports Resort. Beyond the sports, the island can be explored freely: the footage shows a player racing a powerboat along the coast, flying a small plane over the hills, chasing dolphins, and stopping at a picnic spot named Ollie Hill. According to the narration, you can also search for hidden hibiscus flowers and collect Spocco photos that give information on sightseeing spots around the resort.

A new offline mode called Island Crown sits in the menu alongside Casual Online Play and Warm-Up. Players win matches to raise their rank and square off against Island Champions, the top ranked opponent in each sport. “Rumor has it there are seasoned champs known as Island Legends,” the narrator added. The trailer shows a boxing champion named Aya and a rank screen covering tennis, bowling, archery, boxing, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, golf, and thumb wrestling, with skateboarding and power cruising listed as leisure sports.

An Item Center offers customization for Mii characters and Sportsmates, including outfits, accessories, stamps, and equipment. The game supports offline and online play, solo or in pairs, with motion controls throughout. No price was shown on screen.
