Atlus brought Persona 4 Revival to the Nintendo Direct September 2026, and the trailer ended on a card that reads “Coming May 20, 2027” under a Nintendo Switch 2 badge. It is a fully rebuilt version of the 2008 PlayStation 2 RPG rather than a port of Persona 4 Golden.
The trailer opens on the Atlus logo inside an old television set and a foggy Inaba street before the line “You ever heard of the Midnight Channel?” From there it moves through the familiar beats of the story: the school calendar overlay, Chie and Yosuke at the table, Marie on the couch, and the reveal that “all shadows were originally born from humans.”
The gameplay footage shows turn-based battles staged inside the TV world with weakness pop-ups, “1 More” follow-ups and the team’s all-out attack, all redrawn in the style of the recent Persona remakes. Chie’s shadow confrontation gets a full cutscene. One character’s line sums up the pitch: “We’re just gonna hop in the TV and beat down anything in our way.”
The Direct card listed only the Nintendo Switch 2 version and its May 20, 2027 date. Atlus had already announced the game for other platforms before this show, and nothing on screen changed those plans.
