Nintendo announced two new Kirby Air Riders amiibo at Nintendo Direct September 2026: Sword Kirby and Dragoon, and Noir Dedede and Hydra. Both figures arrive on November 12.
Sword Kirby wears his green cap and rides the white and red Dragoon with his sword raised. Noir Dedede is a dark, spiky take on the king, perched on the Hydra, a teal machine covered in spikes. A wider shot then lines up the full set of seven figures, including Kirby on the Warp Star, Bandana Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, Chef Kawasaki and King Dedede, and the narration says “the Kirby Air Riders amiibo lineup is now complete.”
Tapping the figures does more than unlock a cosmetic. According to the narration, “these legendary machines can be summoned as figure players that you can train,” and riders can be swapped onto other machines before being summoned. The footage shows a Noir Dedede figure player appearing on the track in a burst of light.
Nintendo also teased a change to the game itself. The main menu, shown as a desk covered in mode cards for Air Ride, Top Ride, City Trial and Road Trip, and the paddock will get “a stylish new look during an upcoming event” where players can earn in-game rewards. No date was given for the event, and Nintendo said more information will be shared in the future. The segment did not show a price for the amiibo.
