LEVEL-5 followed its Professor Layton trailer at Nintendo Direct September 2026 with a short teaser for Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain, ending on a card that read “Development Confirmed!” beside a Nintendo Switch 2 logo.

The teaser runs under half a minute and shows a shopping street at sunset, with a boy in a red shirt and the cat yo-kai Jibanyan walking home past vending machines and shop signs while a white ghost drifts along behind them. The subtitles lean on cat puns: “I’m paw-sitively starving!”, “Wait for meee!”, and a promise that “another fun adventure awaits tomorrow”. Whether the scene is in-game footage or a pre-rendered clip was not stated.

The card showed only the Switch 2 logo, so no Switch version was indicated, and no release window, price or gameplay was shown. The closing line, “It’ll take a while meowre!”, suggests the game is some way off. Yo-kai Watch 2 originally arrived on Nintendo 3DS in 2014 as Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls, and the teaser did not say how the new game relates to those releases.
