Square Enix opened the headlines block of the Nintendo Direct September 2026 with Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and gave it a firm date: April 8, 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2.
The trailer starts on Sephiroth and a crowd of figures reaching toward the sky, then cuts to Meteor burning over a city at night. The narration frames the game as the end of the story: to stop the spell, Cloud and his party set out on a final battle to save the planet. A voice in the trailer tells Cloud, “Let us put your faith to the test.”
The gameplay footage shows Cloud in combat with the familiar Punisher Mode and command menu, and the party piloting the Highwind airship over open ocean, with on-screen prompts to accelerate, decelerate and return to the bridge. The narrator described it as exploring “a boundless world.” Yuffie and Barret appear on the airship deck.
The date card reads “Available April 8, 2027” with the Nintendo Switch 2 badge in the corner. Pre-orders begin on the Nintendo eShop later today, according to the presentation. The segment only covered the Switch 2 version and did not mention other platforms.
