Ubisoft slotted two Far Cry titles into the run of third-party trailers at Nintendo Direct September 2026: Far Cry 3 Classic Edition and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition, both carrying a Nintendo Switch 2 badge and an “Available Spring 2027” card.
The segment opened on a single line of dialogue, Vaas’s “Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?”, before the Far Cry 3 Classic Edition title card came up over a tropical shoreline. The footage that followed shows Vaas leaning into the camera in the jungle and a vehicle going up in a fireball at night, all from the 2012 original.
It then cut to the pink and chrome Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Classic Edition logo, followed by a first-person clip of a shotgun-style weapon firing at glowing red enemies in the dark. Blood Dragon is the standalone 1980s-styled spin-off, and its card carried the same spring 2027 window.
Both cards listed only Nintendo Switch 2, and the whole stretch ran without narration, so nothing was said on stage about either game beyond what the cards showed.
Still unknown: price, whether the two are sold separately or as a bundle, whether the Switch 2 versions add anything over the existing Classic Edition releases on other platforms, and a firm date inside the spring 2027 window.
