Zephras Isle is the fourth new region in World of Warcraft: Forever, and the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026 confirmed it is a new starting experience covering levels 1 to 12. The slide read “Zephras Isle, Civilization in Crisis”. The presenter set it up: “Sometimes the greatest mystery isn’t beyond the horizon. Sometimes it’s above us.”
According to the panel, thousands of years ago a group of Highborne exiles forged a pact with the elemental wind spirits and built a civilization in the realm of Skywall. The presenter pointed to Thunderfury and Prince Thunderaan as the places where Classic players first glimpsed elemental powers beyond Azeroth, and said Zephras expands on those ideas “while still creating something entirely new”.
That civilization is now in trouble. The air spirits that once protected the islands have vanished, ancient structures are failing, communities are becoming isolated, and the Skyborne people who live there are divided over what comes next. Some seek answers from the wind spirits, some want to reclaim the arcane traditions of their ancestors, and others have turned to darker powers.
The zone combines classic Warcraft aesthetics with elemental architecture inspired by Skywall. The slide showed tall pines, pale stone buildings with blue tiled roofs, spired towers in the mist, and a crystal on a stone altar crackling with lightning. The panel moved straight from the zone into the Skyborne, a new playable race covered in its own post.
