The Drowned City is a new dungeon off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale for World of Warcraft: Forever, shown by lead software engineer Nora Mills at the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. Mills described sunken troll ruins that “have suddenly risen out of the ocean” and can be seen from the shore. “It appears to be some sort of city,” she said. “I’ve heard reports that trolls and naga have been spotted there. And I thought I saw a pirate ship crash into the place.”
The level target is “at least around levels 35 to 40.” Mills then pointed the room to the World of Warcraft demo area: the Drowned City is playable today on the BlizzCon show floor, the first of the new dungeons to be offered hands-on at the show.
No faction restriction was mentioned, unlike the Lordaeron and Hall of Thanes dungeons, and no bosses or loot were named. Why the ruins rose out of the sea was left as a question for players to answer inside.
