World of Warcraft Forever sends the Horde into the ruins of Lordaeron at level 15 to 20

The Forsaken are restoring Arthas's ruined capital while a necromancer moves in, and Alliance players will have to sneak in, according to Nora Mills.

The ruins of Lordaeron are the second new dungeon Nora Mills described at the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026, right after City of Dalaran. The footage showed the city under a green sky: a spired skyline in fog, a cobbled road to a gated wall hung with dark banners, spectral figures in a courtyard, and an overgrown fountain.

“The once great city of Lordaeron was devastated by Arthas and his Scourge,” Mills said. “The Forsaken have been hard at work trying to restore the city.” She said there are memories in the ruins, old family heirlooms and keepsakes from loved ones who never made it out of the city in time, and that Scourge still lurk in its darkest corners.

The complication is a new arrival. “We’ve heard reports that a necromancer has moved in, and all signs point to an attack on another city,” Mills said. Members of the Horde may take up arms and help the Forsaken reclaim the ruins, “ideally in the level 15 to 20ish range.”

Alliance players are not welcome. “I can’t imagine the Forsaken taking kindly to your presence here,” Mills said, so they will need to find a way to sneak in. She added that the Alliance has “something close to home” too, which turned out to be the Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge. No slide with a formal dungeon name was captured for Lordaeron, and the city the necromancer is targeting was not named.
