Alcaz Island Prison is a new dungeon for World of Warcraft: Forever, shown by lead software engineer Nora Mills at the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. The slide read “New Dungeons: Alcaz Island Prison” over a dark stone hall lit by torches, with naga guards flanking a doorway.
“Some players may find this prison familiar,” Mills said. “This prison is famous because it’s rumored to be the place where the Defias once held high-ranking nobles for ransom. It was at one point even rumored to have held King Varian Wrynn himself.” In the original game the island could be visited, “but we couldn’t actually go inside. In Forever, of course, now you can.”
Mills said there seems to be “some sort of conflict happening between the Defias and the naga inside, so now would be an opportune time to move.” The level target is “around level 48 to 53,” which puts it among the higher-level dungeons named so far at the panel.
Mills did not say on stage which zone the island sits in, and no faction restriction, bosses, or loot were mentioned.
