World of Warcraft: Forever has a new Legacy system built around the level 1 to 60 leveling journey, Associate Production Director Clay Stone said during the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. “If camping is us doubling down on trade skills and community, WoW Forever’s new Legacy system will see us tripling down on an element of Classic that is only found in Classic, the 1 to 60 leveling journey,” Stone said.

The system rewards goals hit on each new leveling run. “Although the Legacy system benefits everyone, it very much aids players who love to run alts, as they unlock new perks across their alts by achieving new goals on each new leveling journey,” Stone said. The slide showed a Legacy Challenges window with a Legacy Points counter reading 30 of 65 and six categories: Classes, Tradeskills, Player vs. Player, Adventure, Dungeons, and Raids. A second slide showed a character standing in a mushroom-lit cavern.

Stone said the endgame is still there for those who want it, but “we know that there are some players who just love the Classic leveling journey,” and that the system fits the Classic design philosophy.

The panel did not list any specific perks, or say whether Legacy perks are the account-wide perks mentioned in the Opening Ceremony or something separate.
