Hardcore is coming to World of Warcraft: Forever. Associate Production Director Clay Stone made the announcement near the end of the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026, with a World of Warcraft Forever Hardcore logo on screen and no other detail.

He set it up with a signature-covered painting carrying the World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore logo, which he said has hung on his wall at Blizzard since 2023. “Hardcore represented a turning point for us as a team,” Stone said. “We had tried a few things before it, and as Ian covered, we’ve absolutely tried new things since. But Hardcore represented the moment when Blizzard and the community came together and showed not only why World of Warcraft is one of the greatest games ever made, but why that original adventure still holds so much promise for where we could go in the future.”

“Which is why I’m also so proud to announce that Hardcore will be coming to WoW Forever,” he said. “Please check out the Hardcore panel tomorrow for a look at WoW Forever Hardcore.”

Stone had just pointed to a gap in the roadmap around winter and said he would discuss it after the painting. Whether Hardcore fills that gap, and when it arrives, was not said.
