World of Warcraft: Forever will have transmog, and it is entirely opt-in, Associate Production Director Clay Stone said at the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. The slide showed a character in dark plate armor and, after an arrow, the same character in a yellow and red set carrying the same weapons.
Stone framed it as a question the community is split on. “Some of you are saying yes, finally, this is my moment, I feel seen,” he said. “But we know some of you are saying, transmog? Not in my Classic Plus.” The answer is a toggle. “If you want to turn it on, it’s on, and everyone you see in the world can look their very best.”
Turn it off and you see other players in the gear they are actually wearing. “For Classic players, especially those of us who enjoy world PvP, many of us want to see other players for who they truly are and what they’ve accomplished,” Stone said. “So turn it off, and it’s clown suits for everyone.”
He said the team has made “classic modifications” to the system for those who choose to use it, without detailing them, and pointed to tomorrow’s Deep Dive panel for more on transmog, camping, and the Legacy system.
