World of Warcraft Forever adds City of Dalaran, a dungeon for levels 28 to 30

The Kirin Tor's barrier over the Alterac Mountains city is down, with haywire arcane constructs and demonic energy inside, and Nora Mills says it is not just a dungeon.

City of Dalaran is a new dungeon coming to World of Warcraft: Forever, shown by lead software engineer Nora Mills during the World of Warcraft: Forever What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. The slide read “New Dungeon: City of Dalaran” over a view of the city’s spires at dusk, and Mills walked through it in character.

The city sits in the Alterac Mountains, and after the events of Warcraft 3 the mages of the Kirin Tor put up a magical barrier to conceal its restoration. “But as you can see, the barrier seems to be down,” Mills said. She listed enchantments backfiring, arcane constructs going haywire, demonic energy running rampant, and cats everywhere, “I guess that part’s normal.”

Mills pitched it to players “around levels 28, 30” and said there might be magical artifacts in it for anyone who helps, “and besides, there’s a whole city to explore. So no, this isn’t just a dungeon.” Because a ragtag group of adventurers helping the Kirin Tor “would not go over well,” she said the team would “find some roundabout way to get you into the city.”

The footage showed pine forest outside the walls, purple domed rooftops, a plaza with crates and floating crystals, a candlelit library with round tables, and the city under a purple night sky. Mills called all of it “just scratching the surface.” No boss names or faction restrictions were given, and the level target was spoken rather than shown on a slide.
