World of Warcraft: The Last Titan got its first teaser footage and a 2027 card at BlizzCon 2026. Game director Ion Hazzikostas closed the Midnight segment of the Opening Ceremony with it.

What Hazzikostas said

“I know many of you came here hoping to learn a lot more about The Last Titan,” he said. “We can’t get into too many details just yet, at least not without some pretty catastrophic Midnight spoilers.”

“The events that will unfold in Eclipse in the Worldcore will set the stage for a revelation and a conflict that is not just the final chapter of the Worldsoul Saga, but the culmination of over two decades of World of Warcraft,” he said. “The Last Titan isn’t just a return to Northrend. It’s a reflection on a whole generation of your valor, your deeds.” Azeroth, he said, “needs us one last time.”

On timing, with Eclipse being Midnight’s next content update: “Early next year, once we’re on the other side of Eclipse, we will have so much more information to share with you.” He introduced the footage as “a glimpse of what you’ll be up against.”

The teaser

The footage is a slow pass through a Northrend blizzard with no narration, no characters, and no text until the end: a snowfield in near whiteout, then ruined pillars half buried in snow, a capped stone column among fallen blocks, and a tower with lit windows at the left edge of the frame.

The storm thins enough to show a dark fortress of tall, narrow spires on a ridge, with a faint teal glow in the sky behind it. The camera never gets closer to it.

The last beats return to the ruins: a standing pillar in the foreground, then a tiered tower with warm light in its windows and a bright lantern at its top, as the snow thickens again.

The teaser cuts to The Last Titan logo on black, then to a single card reading 2027, the first release window Blizzard has put on the expansion. It gave the year only.

Where this sits

The Last Titan is the third and final chapter of the Worldsoul Saga, following Midnight, which launched March 2, 2026 as the second chapter. Blizzard announced it at BlizzCon 2023 as a return to Northrend with Ulduar named as part of it.

What is still unknown

Zones, new features, the level cap, and any date more specific than 2027 were not given. The fortress was not named, and no new cinematic was shown. The next information, according to Hazzikostas, comes early next year, after Eclipse.
