Blizzard president Johanna Faries announced a new animated Diablo series with Netflix at BlizzCon 2026, during the Opening Ceremony. The screen behind her showed a single card: the Netflix logo next to the Diablo logo, with nothing else on it.
The announcement came as Faries laid out a push beyond games. “We are more than just Blizzard games. We are Blizzard Entertainment,” she said, adding that the company has been “working very hard to find the absolute best creative partnerships to tell even more stories” and that “exciting things are underway across all of our biggest universes.” The Diablo series is the one project she chose to name today.
Faries said the series is in development. “As a big Diablo player myself and as someone who loves the indulgent darkness of Sanctuary, I am very excited to see this project come to life,” she said from the stage.
That is the full extent of what was shared. No title, release window, episode count, animation studio, cast, or story details were shown or mentioned, and no footage or artwork beyond the logo card appeared. The announcement lands in the year Diablo turns 30, with Diablo IV’s Lord of Hatred expansion having launched in April.
