Kubit framed it as a descendant of The War Within’s World Soul Memories, the Azerite-tinted visions of the world soul’s past. “Now that we’re in the Worldcore, next to the world soul herself, the visions are stronger, the memories are more intense,” he said. Within the Mantle Vault, players will periodically hear the outcry of the world soul, accompanied by a frenzy of activity throughout the zone.
The team has been studying past outdoor events to build it, Kubit said, recent ones as well as older features like the Community Feast, Time Rifts and the scrap event from Undermine, “identifying what’s worked, what hasn’t, with a goal of building just the coolest outdoor events we can make.”
One new wrinkle was named: a massacre chain, which increases your performance and rewards based on how long you can keep a kill streak going. Kubit did not give a cadence for the event or say what it rewards.
