The next World of Warcraft remix is Wrath of the Lich King. Blizzard named it in the closing minute of the World of Warcraft: Midnight What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026, with a title card reading “World of Warcraft Remix: Wrath of the Lich King” over art of the Lich King on his throne.
The reveal came as a bit. Paul Kubit was walking the 2026 to 2027 roadmap and stopped on the summer 2027 column for patch 12.2.7: “it sort of sits in that icy blue area, which makes you start to wonder what could possibly be… hold on a sec. You guys feel a chill in the air? You hear the music?” Jake Miller then walked out carrying a Frostmourne prop. “Is that Arthas Menethil? No, worse,” Kubit said, before Miller delivered the line: “Paul, I’ve come back from another timeline. The next World of Warcraft remix is Wrath of the Lich King. In life we were mere colleagues, but in death we are brothers.”
That was the whole peek. Nothing was shown of the remix itself, so its structure, rewards and any changes from the Mists of Pandaria and Legion remixes remain unknown. No date or PTR window was given on stage. Ion Hazzikostas had described it at the Opening Ceremony as “the next remix experience coming next year”, and Kubit’s tease pointed at the roadmap’s summer 2027 slot without saying the remix lands there.
The panel closed straight after, with Kubit pointing viewers to a World of Warcraft Q&A that will take questions from the forums and social media.
