Jake Miller, lead content designer, walked through all three Talebound classes during the World of Warcraft: Midnight What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026, with a gameplay window running under a “Classes” slide for each. The objective panels on screen named the tales being played: Greywake’s Expedition, Darkhaven, and Greenthistle Wood, each with a lives counter.
The Slayer’s “martial might and monster hunter prowess give him the rare physical tools to combat the beasts of folklore,” Miller said. Slash is a three-hit sequence that stuns on the final blow. Explosive Shot fires a shotgun, with closer shots dealing more damage, and can be empowered to lengthen the fuse. Mine Field leaps backward and throws an arc of mines that damage and slow. Shrapnel Round bounces rounds between foes, and Throwing Knives moves the player quickly and can cancel other attacks.
The Inquisitor’s “zeal lights every corner.” Purify is a three-strike sequence with each hit stronger than the last. Condemn deals holy damage, slows enemies and is castable while moving. An empowered ability deals more damage the longer you stand still. Light’s Wrath conjures a sun above an enemy that burns those nearby, Rapture wreathes enemies in flames you detonate on command, and Radiant Burst hurls fire while moving, exploding on impact.
The Witch, which Miller called his favorite, opens with Brewing Storm, a three-hit lightning sequence. Bubbling Cauldron summons frogs that seek out a random enemy and explode for poison damage. Feline Communion turns you into a cat under a shower of stars, with Crooked Path to blink forward. Winter Spiders sends a swarm with a brood mother, and Moonlight Ravens is a channeled spell, usable while moving, that sends ravens after nearby targets.
