World of Warcraft: Midnight is adding three new race and class combinations, Associate Game Director Paul Kubit announced at the World of Warcraft: Midnight What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. Forsaken, Darkspear Trolls and Night Elves can all be Paladins in patch 12.2 Eclipse.

Kubit set it up as a consequence of the expansion’s light versus void framing. “If Xal’atath is the void, that makes us the light, right?” he said. “I think we’d better beef up our roster of holy warriors.” The Paladin Order Hall is “taking a cue from World of Warcraft Forever and opening up its doors to a new group: Forsaken Paladins.”

The character creation screen on stage showed a Forsaken in gold plate armour carrying a large gold shield, with the Horde side selected and the Paladin class icon highlighted. Kubit said a questline will explore how the Forsaken Paladins came to be.

He then added the other two. “This was the plan, Forsaken Paladins. But after we put it together, we thought, you know, this might not be enough. Xal’atath is too great a foe,” Kubit said. “So Darkspear and Night Elf can also be Paladins now too.” Whether the two additional races get their own questlines was not said.
