Rebirth, a way to bring an existing Eternal character into seasonal play, was shown during the Diablo IV: What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. The host called it one of the long requested features the season is bringing, and the team framed it as quality of life after a long stretch of work on itemization, classes, and skill trees.

The footage starts on the character select screen, where Rebirth Character sits next to Delete Character and Change Difficulty. The example is Syraxis, a Paragon 200 Sorcerer on the Eternal realm. The confirmation window reads: “This character will be Reborn as a Level 1 Seasonal character while retaining their class and appearance.”

A red warning says equipment and inventory will not carry over, and asks players to move all items to the Stash or tick a box to have them deleted. The character’s name has to be typed in to continue. The character creation screen follows with the name filled in, Seasonal already ticked, Solo Self Found offered, Hardcore greyed out, then the difficulty picker.

“I’ve been sitting on Barb the Barb since the beginning of D4 and now Barb the Barb can live on,” one panelist said. The host, who said he runs out of slots each new season and has had to delete characters he named, added that “the story can go on, year after year.”

Whether Rebirth has a cost or limit, or works for Hardcore characters, was not covered.
