The team explained how items from past Diablo games return in Season of Hell’s Legacy at the Diablo IV: What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026. The slide behind the panel called them legacy uniques, and the four named on stage were Leoric’s Crown, Messerschmidt’s Reaver, the Stone of Jordan, and Henri’s Perquisition, “the little cat on a string.” “It wouldn’t be the 30th anniversary without SoJ,” the team said.
Legacy uniques join the regular unique pool. “They’ll be in line with the power of uniques, but they’ll have the affixes and the attributes of the old items,” the team said. “So SoJ will do what you remember it did in D2 with some tweaks. We don’t have light radius and stuff.” Each item also comes with its transmog, so you can wield Messerschmidt’s Reaver or wear Leoric’s Crown.
Asked by the host whether the items are only for the season, the team said they are permanent. They arrive with Season of Hell’s Legacy but stay in both the Seasonal and Eternal realms for every season after it. They are also available as unique charms, so a character who cannot wield a two-handed weapon can still get the effect of Messerschmidt’s Reaver by slotting the charm.
The slide showed art for five unnamed items, and the b-roll showed a character with a cat floating beside her hand. The four names were said on stage, not shown on screen. The full list, exact affixes, and how the items drop were not given.
