Dan Tanguay, Design Director on Diablo, followed the splinters of evil with a second seasonal item at the Diablo IV: What’s Next panel at BlizzCon 2026: soul splinters. “Soul splinters are socketable artifacts, and these are gonna be a little similar to D3 soul shards if you played that season way back when,” he said. They carry big buffs, but as demonic items they also give you a chance of being hunted by the Prime Evils. “These are not knockovers for sure,” Tanguay added of those fights.

A slide showed three example cards, each an account-bound seasonal item that inserts into jewelry with sockets. The header on the slide read Season Features: Splinters of Evil, while the cards themselves are labeled soul splinters.

Splinter of Damnation, a rare soul splinter, gives +1750 shadow resistance, and in jewelry killing an elite pack raises monster power by 1 and experience gained by 25 percent for 15 seconds. Its flavor text is signed by Skarn, Lord of Damnation.

Greater Splinter of the Mother, a legendary soul splinter, gives +2625 physical resistance. In jewelry you are unhindered and touching enemies makes them vulnerable for 10 seconds, but after touching 200 enemies you are stunned for 4 seconds. The card is marked amalgamable and quotes Lilith.

Abyssal Splinter of Hellfire, a unique soul splinter, gives +625 resistance to all elements, and in jewelry you deal 50 percent more damage but lose 100 percent critical strike chance.

How soul splinters drop, and how the hunt is triggered, was not explained.
