Boss night: the Hollow King
The readers reached 1,000. The Hollow King comes for the door on October 31. Hit it together until it breaks.

Epilogue: The night the Hollow ran
On Halloween night the Hollow made one last push for the door. They gathered into a single shape, a king made of every broken frame they had ever taken, and it climbed the edge of the Drift toward Output Lag.
It never got in. Every time it reached for the door, someone inside banished another piece of it. A thousand Hollow had already fallen that month, one click at a time, and the king was built from whatever was left.
Cairn held the pumpkin lantern high. Flicker shouted the warning to every page. Vex called the whole thing "fine, honestly a bit derivative." And Lag went out into the Drift, a beat behind as always, and arrived exactly on time.
When the king broke, its crown of doorways fell open, and for a moment every one of them glowed with colour again. The Lanternwatch thanks you. The door stays lit.
