Signal Veil, a survival horror game blending 90s anime aesthetics with classic survival horror gameplay, has been announced by Tokyo-based publisher Serafini Productions and Chilean studio Time Hunters for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

Players control Aki Mizuno, a schoolgirl who inherits her missing mother’s old phone. The device detects nearby spirits through vibrations and static, and serves as her primary tool for combat. Aki explores Nishikawa High School while uncovering a mystery tied to her mother’s disappearance and confronting enemies born from trauma.

The game uses fixed camera angles similar to classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill games. Combat relies on a ritual-like purge sequence: detect spirits with the phone, stun them with its flash, expose their essence, then eliminate them permanently. Resources like ammo and weapons are scarce, emphasizing strategy over direct confrontation.

As Aki’s sanity deteriorates throughout the game, the school’s environment warps and enemies become more unpredictable. The visual style combines psychological horror series like Another and Jujutsu Kaisen with traditional survival horror tension.

Signal Veil is currently in development. Players can wishlist the game on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Epic Games Store.
