Virtua Fighter Crossroads has something to show on Wednesday. The official account posted on October 26 with nothing but a time, “10.29 8AM PDT | 11AM EDT | 3PM GMT,” the hashtags for the game and the series, and a single image. Sega and RGG Studio have not said what the reveal is, so this is a teaser for a teaser, but it is the first scheduled beat for the game since EVO in the summer.
The image is a lounge, a bucket of champagne and a new face
The shot is a rendered scene rather than a fight. A woman with short dark hair, a plunging purple dress, a necklace and red nails sits on a couch in a dim bar, legs crossed, her hand resting on the shoulder of a white-haired character in a dark hoodie who is cut off at the left edge of the frame. Two champagne bottles chill in an ice bucket in front of her. It reads like a story cutscene, which fits the campaign Sega has been teasing for this entry.
Players in the fighting game subreddit, where the post was shared before moderators removed it for linking to X, spent the thread guessing. Some read the white-haired figure as a returning fighter, with Lion Rafale floated as a name, and others assumed the woman is the next character to be announced. Nobody knows yet, and several just want a long gameplay trailer instead of another short tease.
Crossroads is the first new mainline Virtua Fighter since 2006
Virtua Fighter Crossroads was named at Summer Game Fest in June 2026, after years as the New Virtua Fighter Project, and is due in 2027. Sega has described it as an anthology built around four main characters, with newcomer Cielo Salinas as the face of the game and Pai Chan confirmed to return. At EVO 2026 the publisher showed a masked character called the Bakunawa Killer, whose identity it is treating as a story hook.
The reveal lands at 11 AM Eastern on Wednesday, October 29. We will cover whatever Sega shows.
