REKA, the cozy witch-themed base-building adventure from developer Emberstorm Entertainment and publisher Fireshine Games, has launched its 1.0 version on PC for $19.99 on Steam. The release adds the conclusion to the game’s story along with new base-building tools, quests and animals.

In the story, Reka completes her apprenticeship under Baba Jaga and must take up the mantle of a legendary witch herself. Players create their own young witch and explore a forest world, foraging for materials, taking on quests from villagers and customizing a walking cottage built on chicken legs.

What the 1.0 update adds

According to the publisher, house-building has received a major upgrade, with more furniture and decorations for the interior. Outside the cottage, new materials allow for greater customization. The update also includes new quests, environmental features and animals.

The game features writing from Rhianna Pratchett, whose credits include Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite. During early access, REKA earned a Very Positive review score on Steam, according to the publisher.

The developer, Emberstorm Entertainment, is a Berlin-based indie studio founded in 2020. REKA is its debut title. Fireshine Games, based in London, has also published Denshattack! and Core Keeper.
