South Korea are Overwatch World Cup champions again. They beat the 2023 champions, Saudi Arabia, 4-1 in the first-to-four grand final at BlizzCon 2026 in Anaheim, for the nation’s fourth World Cup title and its first since 2018.
The final map was Esperança. South Korea banned D.Va, which the casters called Saudi Arabia’s most definitive hero, and KSA still took the lead, pushing the robot to 75.97 meters while Korea sat at 52. With under three minutes left, Stalk3r opened a fight with two quick kills on Sojourn, and South Korea drove the robot to 106.46 meters in under a minute. “Stalk3r delivers,” the casters said.
Saudi Arabia pushed back through the final minute and into overtime, getting the robot past 101 meters. South Korea won the last fight, with CH0R0NG and Simple taking out ZIYAD and zox, and KSA finished about five meters short. “The dynasty that defined an era has found its way back to the summit,” the casters said.
KSA won the opening map, Nepal, before South Korea took Neon Junction, New Junk City and Route 66. France had reverse-swept South Korea in the group stage in Busan, and in the semifinal earlier the same day France led them 2-0 again before Korea won three straight maps. Saudi Arabia dropped a single map, to Spain, on the way to the final.
