Paladin is the most played class in WoW: Forever, at 14.4% of characters, and Warlock is the least played, at 8.9%. That’s according to a census of just over 100,000 characters by the creator of Classic Armory, a fan-run armory site, built from profile data from Blizzard’s official API as of November 5, the day after launch.
Watch the short YouTubeThe creator shared it on r/classicwow, where it passed 1,500 upvotes. It’s a sample rather than a full count, since it only covers characters the site has data for, but it’s a big one, and it’s the first clear look at what everyone rolled.
Horde holds 54.5% and leads on every ruleset except RP
Horde characters make up 54.5% of the census and outnumber Alliance on every ruleset but one. On RP realms, Alliance leads with 57%.
Rogues lean hard toward PvP: 63% of them are on PvP realms, against about 50% for every other class.
About one in ten characters is Skyborne, including 29% of Druids
The two Skyborne races account for about 1 in 10 characters in the census. They’re especially popular with Druids: 29% of all Druids are Skyborne.
The median character was level 11, and 1,366 are named Forever
As of November 5, the median character was level 11. 35% were still at level 10, about 2,000 had reached level 20 or higher, 8 were past 30, and the highest was 35. JokerD’s group went on to reach the world-first level 60 on November 6.
The most common last name in the game is “Forever”, on 1,366 characters.
The creator says they’re not sure they’ll keep updating the census, though commenters have already asked for more as players level up.
I looked at 100k WoW Forever characters two days after launch. Paladins everywhere, Horde ahead, and “Forever” is the most common last name
