WoW: Forever has a free launch-week toy that makes camping twice as good, and you get it by watching Twitch. The Pouch of Violet Dust turns a campfire purple and extends every camp benefit by an hour, from one hour to two. That bonus goes to everyone resting at the camp, not just you. To claim it, watch four hours of World of Warcraft streams before November 12 at 4:30 p.m. PST, according to Blizzard’s announcement.
Watch the short YouTubeThere is a catch: the toy is temporary. It only works during the “WoW: Forever Launch Celebration” event, which ends in early December, and after that Blizzard removes it from your collection for good.
Watch 4 hours of WoW on Twitch before November 12
The drop campaign runs from November 4 at 4:30 p.m. PST to November 12 at 4:30 p.m. PST. Any eligible stream in the World of Warcraft category on Twitch counts, and you can switch channels as you go without losing progress. Watching several streams at once doesn’t speed it up.
- Link your Twitch account to Battle.net first at account.battle.net/connections.
- Claim the drop on the channel you’re watching or in Twitch’s Drops Inventory.
- Log into the Battle.net region you want it on. The toy goes to the first region you log into after claiming.
- It can take up to 24 hours to show up in game.
YouTube counts only on the official WoW channel
You can also earn the drop on YouTube by linking Battle.net through YouTube’s Connected Apps page, but there you have to watch the official World of Warcraft channel the whole time. YouTube rewards arrive in game automatically.
Drops work in a PC or Mac browser and in the Twitch and YouTube apps on Android and iOS. Twitch and YouTube apps on consoles and smart TVs don’t earn them. If you claim on Twitch without a linked Battle.net account, the drop expires after seven days.
The purple fire doubles camp buffs for everyone at your fire
Camps are one of WoW: Forever’s new systems: players build a campsite, and anyone resting there gets an hour of buffs. Using the Pouch of Violet Dust stretches those benefits to two hours, and the extension is shared with every player resting at that camp. One player with the toy can upgrade a whole group’s rest stop.
Make the most of it before December. Once the Launch Celebration ends, the toy won’t work and will be removed from collections.
