Path of Exile 2 is getting Steam achievements, Grinding Gear Games said during the developer Q&A at ExileCon 2026, and console players may be able to play couch co-op on separate accounts when the game leaves early access on December 11.
Asked whether achievements were planned now that the game is reaching 1.0, the answer on stage was direct: “We absolutely do. So yeah, they’ll be there.” The developers added that Steam now supports seasonal achievement sets, temporary groups of achievements, which would let each league’s challenges appear on Steam as well. They were not sure the league challenges would be part of that from 1.0, describing it as something for “our leagues going forward”.
The co-op answer came with a hedge. A question asked whether each player in console co-op would be able to use their own account, a feature that had come up before. “It’s definitely in the works. I’ve seen people work on it,” the developer said. “I’m pretty sure it will actually make it for 1.0, but I’m like 90% sure.” He pointed attendees to a team member on the show floor for a firm answer.
The same answer said a full couch co-op playthrough on the team’s side turned up a batch of bugs, with fixes due in an early patch after launch. The 1.0 patch notes are expected about a week before release, as the hosts noted during the Q&A, so a firm word on both features should come by then.
