Path of Exile 2 1.0 reworks around 70 uniques with built-in skills and adds over 40 new ones

Keelhaul, Edyrn's Tusks and Radiant Grief gain their own skills, and 1.0 also adds over 200 new base types.

Grinding Gear Games used its ExileCon 2026 keynote to show how Path of Exile 2 1.0 changes unique items. Around 70 existing uniques get upgraded mods, skills, and visuals, modelled on items like the Nightfall tower shield that carry a whole skill. “Our new philosophy is that uniques need to really do something,” the presenter said.

On screen, the Keelhaul belt keeps its flask regeneration and now grants a Geyser skill that erupts when you use a flask. Edyrn’s Tusks spawns spirit boars around you to attack enemies. The Apron of Emiran still makes bleeding aggravated, and now grants a Guillotine skill that drops blades from the sky, a nod to the Act 1 Executioner. Radiant Grief no longer deals a fixed amount of fire damage: it has a built-in skill that burns and explodes nearby enemies and accepts support gems, so it scales into the endgame.

Over 40 brand new uniques join the core drop pool, which the studio counts as effectively 110 new uniques. The Ashcaller wand ancestrally boosts fire spells when you pick up a fire infusion and summons ancestral spirits on hit. The Siegebreaker belt grants Bunkerbuster, which sends minions charging into enemies to detonate. The Windripper bow grants Perfect Squall, tornadoes that absorb ground elements and split into smaller ones.

The 1.0 update also adds over 200 new base types, including a Twilight Longsword with jewel sockets, Revered Vestments that grant curse immunity, and a gladiator armour that generates glory when you are hit.
