Owlcat Games has revealed Saro, a sanctioned psyker companion for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, currently in closed beta. Saro uses pyromantic abilities to incinerate enemies but carries significant drawbacks in combat.

Saro underwent sanctioning after his psyker powers manifested in childhood. Now serving the Tyrentine Cabal of the Inquisition, he brings both destructive magic and knowledge of supernatural phenomena to investigations. His pyromancy creates firestorms that eliminate heretics, but excessive use causes disturbances in the warp that can summon warp creatures mid-battle, making encounters more dangerous. He also lacks physical strength compared to other companions.

Players can recruit Saro by purchasing a Founder’s Pack, which grants access to the closed beta. He is one of ten available companions.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy lands on Windows PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
