SKULD is a Norse mythology action tower defense game that has a Hades-inspired art style and lets players fight directly in the battle rather than watching it from above, according to publisher PR material. Critical Hit PR is now offering demo keys through a request form.
You play as Skuld, a Norn of the future who has turned into a Valkyrie. Players place and upgrade turrets, then defend the line themselves with fast melee combos. Some enemies head for your towers while others come for Skuld directly. The run is lost if enemies reach Valhalla or if Skuld falls.
Story progresses in Valhalla between runs
Between runs, the story advances in Valhalla through player choices made with Odin, Loki and other gods. The game is set after Ragnarök and uses a hand-painted, comic-book visual style, according to the press email.
Demo keys can be requested through the form linked in the press email. A press kit is also available, and the game’s Steam store page is live.
