Apex Legends may be getting Godzilla: a 16-second teaser shows a trail of blue dorsal spines

Respawn has not named Godzilla. Its "Something big is coming" clip landed two days before the Cipher season launches, with no date attached.

Apex Legends has a teaser that is getting players talking about Godzilla, even though nobody at Respawn has said the name. The official Apex Legends account posted a 16-second clip on Sunday night with one line: “Something big is coming…” It shows a long row of glowing blue spines moving through smoke, and it arrived two days before the Cipher season launches.

The spines in the teaser are made of Apex logos

The clip opens on a single Apex logo glowing blue in the dark. It splits into copies, and the copies line up into a long, winding row that shrinks into the distance, like plates along the back of something huge moving through fog. There is no text, no spoken line, no date and no logo other than the game’s own.

Godzilla is the players’ reading, and Respawn has not confirmed it

The blue glow and the row of plates are why players went straight to Godzilla. The Apex Legends subreddit labelled the clip a Godzilla teaser within minutes, and one player is already asking whether a monster that size would mean large mech suits dropping from the sky. Respawn and EA have not announced a Godzilla collaboration, and we could not find any statement from either company confirming one. Treat it as a strong guess until Respawn says more.

Apex has run Cyberpunk and Street Fighter 6 crossovers already

A licensed collaboration would fit the game’s recent run. The official Apex Legends channel has released event trailers for crossovers with Cyberpunk and Street Fighter 6, so a third big outside name would not be a surprise. What is less clear is how a monster that size would work in a battle royale, since Apex’s past crossovers have not needed anything on this scale.

Cipher launches November 3, with no date attached to this teaser

The clip gives no release window, so we do not know whether “something big” lands with the new season or later. Apex Legends: Cipher launches November 3 with the Akimbo Wingman and a Crypto rework, and it also adds Legend bans to ranked. We will update this post if Respawn names the collaboration.
